The N-Vision Anhydrous Ammonia Sentry carefully monitors every drop of anhydrous ammonia, providing a detailed, real-time look into the tank and plumbing to provide vapor-free liquid to metering and distribution devices. What is Anhydrous Ammonia?

Anhydrous Ammonia (NH3) is the pure gas or compressed liquid form of ammonia that contains no water.  The word “anhydrous” means without water.  Anhydrous ammonia is one of the most efficient and widely used sources of nitrogen fertilizer for plant growth. Anhydrous ammonia is used in tanks equipped with a toolbar with knives that inject the liquid ammonia into the soil. When injected into the soil, the liquid ammonia expands into a gas and is readily absorbed in the soil moisture. Anhydrous ammonia is made up of one part nitrogen and three parts hydrogen. This fertilizer is one of the most potentially dangerous chemicals used in agriculture. Always be aware of the hazardous properties of anhydrous ammonia. Whenever using anhydrous ammonia, give the equipment a thorough safety check.
